March 19 – St Joseph – Some thoughts

March 18, 2009
In these days the german media reports too much about 2 families.
1. Mr Joseph Fritzl, the man from St Poelten, Austria, who misused his daughter for years and used as an object of his sexual perversions.
2. The father of “Tim. K”( who shot 15 people in Germany). This father provided this son with everything he wanted. But the real care for his child was lacking there.
What is lacking in the familes today? Why do we hear these kinds of news mainly?
We know, that there are so many good fathers and mothers in the world. But they are revelaed to the world not much.
St Joseph is a father, who is not much revealed.  I have so much sympathy towards St Joseph. There are so many reasons.
March 19. The day dedicated to St. Joseph. As in the most time, this feast occures in Lent season.
First of all we hear nothing “from” him. He was selected to be the “father” of Jesus. But he had nothing to do there as father (?) except caring him. He is picturised as a dreamer, like the one of Old testament. We should not forget that both “dreamers” had very important dreams or visions. Good at least something positive.
St Joseph speaks nothing in the Holy Bible. Bible speaks a little about him. But what we read is enough. He is called as “just man”.
Again something to relax.
I think St Joseph was not looking for much attention of others. He was just to his family and that should have given him enough Joy.
Today is a day for all fathers, who remain unrevealed to the outer world so much, but still practice their fatherly duties.
Let the divine assistance of St. Joseph be with them.
