Sermon thoughts – 20th Sunday in the Ordinary Time – C- Lk 12, 49-53

Today we come across with a big problem.
Jesus says, “I have come to set the earth on fire”.
What does he want to say? What does it mean?
He wants to set the world on fire?
Jesus is a person in God; Can God do such a thing?

Fire for Jesus- in this context- is not the material fire ...
It has a different meaning, with a linguistic - spiritual significance.

It stands for the “commitment” for the “zeal” and the “sole” objective.
When Jesus “...wish it were already blazing”, then it has only one meaning.
People should recognize his Words and truth and learn and live it.
