„ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പുരോഹിതാ,
നീ അര്പ്പിക്കാന് പോകുന്ന ഈ ബലി,
നിന്റെ ആദ്യത്തെയും,
അവസാനത്തെയും,
ഒരേയൊരു ബലിയായി അര്പ്പിക്കുക.“
അവിടെ ദിവ്യബലിക്കായി ഒരുങ്ങുന്ന എതൊരു പുരോഹിതനും അത് ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുകയും
ഒരു നിമിഷമെങ്കിലും താന് അര്പ്പിക്കുന്ന ബലിയുടെ മഹത്വത്തെക്കുറിച്ച്
ധ്യാനിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.

Sermon thoughts – 5th Sunday in Eastertime – Acts 14, 21b-27, Jn 13, 31-33a. 34-35
In my home parish Sacristy, I have noticed a small prayer.
“Priest of God, celebrate this Mass as if it were your first Mass, your last Mass, your only Mass.”
Every priest who vests for the liturgy can see it and will remain in a short prayer before the Holy Mass. This reminds him the Respect and dedication to he has to give for the celebration of the Holy mass.
This prayer hints not only the mysterious nature of the Eucharist, but also the unknown nearness of the life duration and the death. It is also an indication to the necessary life dedication. Life is time bound one. It is a journey to the secret moment of death. No one can say when the end comes- except suicidal attempts- even that too cannot be 100% proper.

Sermon thoughts- 4th Sunday in Easter time- Acts 13, 14.43b-52, Jn 10, 27-30 - Vocation Sunday
Good friends and real lovers can realize certain life problems each other.
For that one should not meet in person. It is even transferred through a telephone call. Hope some of us had these kinds of experiences in our life.
Because voice is not some lifeless and neutral mixture of Sounds, words, and grammar. In fact our talks reveal our thoughts and emotions, personalities and our nature itself. In that context, to listen some one means, we understand some one. Listening with out understanding will have no impact at all.
Voice is a medium to share our thoughts, even our emotions.
One can influence other with the proper use of that special gift.
Our special fancy and inclination to certain actors or singers and such artists are thus justified.

ഉയിര്പ്പ്കാലം – നാലാം ഞായര് - Acts 13, 14.43b-52, Jn 10, 27-30 - *സമര്പ്പിത ഞായര്.
*(ആത്മീയ പാലകരായി സമര്പ്പിതരായവര്ക്ക് വേണ്ടി പ്രത്യേകം പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്കുന്ന ഈ ദിനത്തെ, ദൈവവിളി ഞായര് എന്ന് വിളിക്കുന്നതിനേക്കാള് സമര്പ്പിത ഞായര് എന്ന് വിളിക്കാനാണ് ഞാന് ആഗ്രഹിക്കുക. ദൈവവിളി – പൌരോഹിത്യം, സന്ന്യാസം, കുടുംബം, ഏകാന്തജീവിതം - എല്ലാവര്ക്കും ലഭിക്കുന്നതാണല്ലോ.) ചില നല്ല സുഹൃത്തുക്കളുമായി സംസാരിക്കുമ്പോള് അവരുടെ സ്വരത്തില് നിന്നും നമുക്ക് അവരുടെ മനസ്സിനെ എന്തോ അലട്ടുന്നുണ്ട് എന്ന് മനസ്സിലാക്കാനാകും. അതിന് അവരെ നേരിട്ട് കാണണം എന്നുപോലുംമില്ല. ചില ടെലഫോണ് സംഭാഷണത്തില് കൂടിപ്പോലും നമുക്ക് അത് മനസ്സിലാക്കാനാകും. നമ്മില് ചിലര്ക്കെങ്കിലും ഇത്തരം അനുഭവങ്ങള് പങ്കുവയ്ക്കാനുണ്ടാകും. സ്വരം എന്നത് ശബ്ദങ്ങളുടെയും വാക്കുകളുടെയും വ്യാകരണങ്ങളുടെയും കൂട്ട് മാത്രമല്ല. അതിലൂടെ നാം വികാരങ്ങളെയും വിചാരങ്ങളെയും, നമ്മെയും നമ്മുടെ വ്യക്തിത്വങ്ങളെയും തന്നെയാണ് പങ്കുവയ്ക്കുന്നത്. അതിനാല് തന്നെ വാക്കുകള് ശ്രവിക്കുക എന്നാല് ഒരാളെ മനസ്സിലാക്കുക എന്നുകൂടെ അര്ത്ഥം. സ്വരത്തിലൂടെ നാം വിചാരങ്ങളെ മാത്രമല്ല, വികാരങ്ങളെയും കൈമാറ്റംചെയ്യുന്നു. അതുകൊണ്ടാണല്ലോ അഭിനേതാക്കളും ഗായകരുമൊക്കെ അവരുടെ കലാസിദ്ധികളാല് നമ്മുടെ മനസ്സിനെ കീഴടക്കുന്നത്. read more...

When we go through the media reports of these days, the world is bit anxious about a particular news. It is about the present tensions from the North Korea and its war preparations. I am not going through the details of the politics here. But the crazy need for power of some leaders becomes a thought for the Sunday.

ഉയിര്പ്പുകാലം – മൂന്നാം ഞായര് - Acts 5, 27-32. 40b-41, Joh 21, 1-19
ഈ ദിവസങ്ങളിലെ മാധ്യമ റിപ്പോര്ട്ടുകളില് ലോകം ആകാംക്ഷയോടെ വായിക്കുന്ന ഒരു വാര്ത്തയുണ്ട്. അത് ഉത്തരകൊറിയയുടെ ആണവായുധ – യുദ്ധ ഭീഷണികളാണ്. അതിന്റെ മറ്റ് വിശദാംശങ്ങള്ക്കായി ഇവിടെ ഞാന് ശ്രമിക്കുന്നില്ല.
എന്നാല് ഈ ഭീഷണികളിലൂടെ വ്യക്തമാകുന്ന ചില അധികാരമുഖങ്ങള്
നമ്മുടെ ചിന്തയ്ക്ക് വിധേയമാകുന്നു.
കിം ജോങ്ങ്-ഉന് എന്ന ഭരണാധികാരിയുടെ അധികാരമോഹവും ശക്തനെന്നു സ്വയം ബോധ്യപ്പെടാനും ലോകത്തിനു മുന്പില് അത് കാണിക്കാനുമുള്ള വ്യഗ്രതകളുമൊക്കെയാണ് ഇതിലൂടെ വെളിവാകുന്നത്.
ഇത്തരം അധികാരമോഹികള് ലോകത്തെമ്പാടും ഉണ്ട്.
മനുഷ്യന്റെ കഷ്ടതകള് കാണാന് നില്ക്കാതെ,
സ്വന്തം ദുരകള്ക്കായി എന്തും ചെയ്യാന് മടിയില്ലാത്ത ഇത്തരക്കാരെ

Sermon thoughts – 2nd Sunday in Easter time – Divine Mercy Sunday – C
“I believe in God, but don’t have interest in the Church.” We might have heard these types of opinions in plenty.
But the narration on St Thomas and his doubt on this Sunday-Gospel tell us the importance of faith and community life.
The disciples of Jesus were not having such a great faith in the Risen Lord, after the resurrection. We can read that in all the 4 Gospels.
In Matthew 28, 17 it is written: “When they saw him, they worshipped him; but some doubted“

ഉയിര്പ്പ് കാലം – രണ്ടാം ഞായര് - ദിവ്യകാരുണ്യ ഞായര്
„എനിക്ക് ദൈവത്തില് വിശ്വാസമുണ്ട്, എന്നാല് സഭയില് താല്പര്യമില്ല” എന്ന് പറയുന്ന ചിലരെയെങ്കിലും ചില അവസരത്തില് നാം കാണാറുണ്ട്.
എന്നാല് നമ്മുടെ വിശ്വാസം വളര്ത്തുന്നതിലും അത് പരിപോഷിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിലും കൂട്ടായ്മ എത്രത്തോളം ആവശ്യമാണെന്ന് ഇന്നത്തെ സുവിശേഷത്തിലൂടെ – വി. തോമസ് അപ്പോസ്തലന്റെ അനുഭവത്തിലൂടെ സഭ നമ്മെ മനസ്സിലാക്കിത്തരുന്നു.
യേശുവിന്റെ മരണത്തിന് ശേഷം ശിഷ്യന്മാര് അത്ര ഉറച്ചവിശ്വാസത്തില് ആയിരുന്നില്ല എന്ന് സുവിശേഷകന്മാര് എല്ലാവരും - വ്യത്യസ്ത രീതിയിലെങ്കിലും ഒരേപോലെ സാക്ഷ്യപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു.
മത്തായിയുടെ സുവിശേഷം 28, 17 ല് നാം വായിക്കുന്നു: „അവനെ കണ്ടപ്പോള് അവര് അവനെ ആരാധിച്ചു. എന്നാല് ചിലര് സംശയിച്ചു.”
മാര്ക്കോസ് 16, 14 ല് പറയുന്നു: „ഉയിര്പ്പിക്കപ്പെട്ടതിനുശേഷം തന്നെ കണ്ടവരെ വിശ്വസിക്കാത്തത്നിമിത്തം അവരുടെ വിശ്വാസരാഹിത്യത്തെയും ഹൃദയകാഠിന്യത്തെയും അവന് കുറ്റപ്പെടുത്തി.“
