Sermon thoughts- 3rd Sunday of Advent – A – Mt 11, 2-11

The Gospel of this sunday illustrates two types of witnessing.
We see John the baptist and Jesus witnessing each other.
In a way they are complimenting each other.

But it is natural to doubt on the witnessing style of John the baptist.
Because as the text reveals, it is not a direct “witnessing” at all.
“Are you the one who is to come, or should we look for another ?”
This is the question of John.
Yes, it seems to be negative for the first impression. But going deeper to the text and connecting the reply of Jesus to John will tell us another story.
