Sermon thoughts – 10th Sunday in Ordinary Time C – 1 Kin 17, 17-24, Lk 7, 11-17

“Ad majorem Dei gloriam„ “For the greater Glory of God”. This is a small Phrase by St Ignatius Loyola, the motto of the Society of Jesus. This simple sentence formed not only the life of St Ignatius and his fellow priests, but many in their lives. Because this attribute to the positive philosophy of our God centred life. God is glorified not only in and through our many Liturgical Ceremonies and praises. But He is glorified in our lives, our words and actions. Our whole life is a praising prayer to God. The two instances we hear in the first and third readings (Gospel) are almost same in the content. If, in the first reading, we hear the Prophet Elijah gives life to a child, the Gospel is about Jesus raising a young man in Nain. Both of these instances highlight a great truth: read more...
